Mission
The Doherty Middle School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is an all volunteer board which offers an array of activities and meetings to keep you informed and provide opportunities for parents to be part of their children’s education.

Staff Appreciation Luncheon
Twice a year — at the start of the school year and during teacher appreciation week — the PAC provides a lunch for the Doherty Staff to thank them for their ongoing commitment to the students and school.
Cultural Enrichment
Several events are sponsored throughout the year which enhance the students’ learning experience. Examples of past events include Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Origamindo/ Michael Lafosse, and the Museum of Science’s Travel Program.
Supporting ALL DMS Teams
Funds are provided to each of the teams at Doherty. These funds enable the teachers to purchase tools for learning, and provide unique experiences for the students.
Capital Improvements
From technology funding to library improvements, parent contributions to the PAC help enhance the learning experience.
School Supplies
As part of our fundraising, the PAC sells “no hassle” beginning of the year school supplies. This eliminates the need for parents to fight the crowds while shopping in August.
Grab A Gift
The PAC sponsors a gift shopping experience around the holidays for students. The PAC collects “re-gift” type items from parents, and purchases some items so students can shop for their friends and family and buy presents at extremely reasonable prices.
Resources
The PAC provides bi-weekly email newsletters to keep you in the loop and up to date with what’s happening at DMS and in the community. Please make sure you’re on our email list.
